Wind Turbines: Grease sampling and analysis
This paper was submitted to NLGI for the 2011 national meeting, where the topic focus was wind energy. This paper outlines the challenges of obtaining representative samples from grease lubricated components, and new technologies available to sample from multiple target components. Application to wind turbine greased components is included, along with a discussion on the best-practices available for analysis of the small and realistic sample size of 1 gram.
